I know he is technically Pixar but I LOVE Woody. Yeah, he is kinda a jerk in the first movie. But it is totally warrented. All of sudden Buzz just comes in and steals all of his friends. Everyone would act like that. Plus, in the end, he saves tons of toys lives by telling Sid off. In the second and third movies, he is totally lovable. His relationship with Bo Peep is so ADORABLE and she totally should have been in the third movies. He is loyal to his friends and to Andy, he has great relationships with all of the other toys, and is funny. What's not to love.

Day 4- Your Favorite Disney Prince
Man, I need to watch Sleeping Beauty again. I put my vote in for Prince Phillip becuase he is the bravest Disney Prince. I mean, does any other Prince slay a dragon, run thorough rose thorns, and kiss a dead girl just to be with the one he loves? I think not. Also, he's a fox. He's got a great haircut and can sing. Sounds good to me. Some of the Disney Princess don't seem to do much than fall in love with a pretty girl and he is not like that. He has his own personality- he likes to explore, brave, and persues his love insistently

Day 3: Your Favorite Heroine
Esmeralda from Hunchback of Notre Dame. I remember not liking it when I was younger, so I just re-watched it. IT'S SO GOOD! The music the characters, the storyline! But, I feel like it doesn't appeal well to the younger audience. Esmeralda though is pretty awesome. She does what she wants and what she feels is best. Her friendship with Quasimodo is really heartwarming because she treats him the way he wants to be treated- normal. I love that scene where she is escaping and Quasimodo saves her and just yells "SANCTUARY!" It's awesome. Also, she is really pretty and an awesome dancer.

My day
So guess what happened today?? ASL got cancelled!
It's not that I don't like learning sign language. I think it's really interesting. But, it's TWO HOURS and goes until 5. By the end of the hour:
It is too late and too long. I am on my third semester now so it is really hard to stay interested the entire time. Plus, we have a group project this semester. We have to sign a 10min play. I feel like I am not skilled enough at ASL to do well, but we will see. I was planning on to take this 2 hours and take a nap, but did I. No. I spent my time looking at random Disney stuff instead. Good idea? Eh, sure.
But, my day went badly because my gallbladder decided it was angry.
That basically means for whatever reason something I ate upset it and the topmost part of my stomach is in pain. It kinda feels like there is a big hole in your stomach. But, I ended my night by Skyping/ Phone call with Emily! It was nice getting to actually talk to her again. Hopefully she can come visit for my birthday! That's all!Have a magical day!
Day 2: Your Favorite Disney Princess
Snow White!!! I know she is not the most popular princess but that's ridiculous. I LOVE Snow White. She is extremely upbeat no matter the situation. She holds no hard feelings to anyone, even if they have done something wrong to her. She lives her life just trying to be nice to everyone, which is what I do. She cares a lot for the people in her life and is always doing things for the Dwarfs to make their life better. Plus, her little interaction with the Prince is SO adorable. She is all shy and nervous about what she looks like, it makes her just like everyone else! Their duet is one of my favorite Disney songs

Day 1- Your Favorite Disney Character
Timon from Lion King. In my opinion, he steals the entire movie, Everything he says is funny. Any moment he is on film is guaranteed to be the best. Plus, he is voiced by Nathan Lane who I love. He sings my favorite Disney song and took part in the scene below aka the best part of the movie!

Indian Emperor this weekend!
Yes, I know this isn't Disney related, but it's the only thing happening now, so.... come see Indian Emperor this weekend! I am playing a Traxallan Indian with the What You Will Shakespeare Company. The basic premise of the show is that it takes place when Cortez comes to Mexico. There are fights between the Spanish and the Aztecs, love stories, family betrayal, murders, suicides, etc. It has definitely come a long way since the beginning of tech week and should be a great show!

Introductions!
Hi all!
Welcome to my blog for my adventures as a member of the Disney College Program! So my name is Jaclyn Marta. Right now, I am a Sophomore at the U of I in Urbana Champaign. I am studying English and Theatre and hopefully next year will be in the Secondary Education program as well. I LOVE Harry Potter ( book six is the best), Glee, God, reading, theatre, Super Nintendo, Buffy the Vampire Slayer, my family, Starkid, dresses, and Disney. My favorite Disney movie is Lion King, favorite Pixar movie is Monsters Inc, favorite Disney character is Timon, favorite Pixar character is Woody, and favorite princess is Snow White.
So how did I decide to do the Disney College Program? Well, it all started back when my sister, Samantha, did the program. Even though she didn't like her position, she liked being in the program. Once I got to college, I knew it was something I REALLY wanted to do. But, with my program it was never really possible. So, I accepted that it would never get to happen. Plus, I knew classes wouldn't transfer and I thought I would lose my financial aid. Fast forward to my Sophomore year in college. At this point I added another minor to my studies. I started looking at my future schedule and realized I would have to do 5 years of school, even though I only needed 4 1/2 years. Also, I was having a lot of uncertainties about what I should do in fall of my junior year. Should I get an apartment with friends? Should I live with my sister? Should I stay in my dorm? I kept going back and forth, completely unsure. I decided to just stay in my dorm and see what happened. Well then, the Disney College Program came to my school. I thought, well, might as well go and find out more info. I went to the meeting and talked to one of my campus reps. She told me about how to keep my student status and how to work out everything with my school. At this point, I talked with my sister and decided to apply to Disney and see where the cards fell. If God wanted me to go to Disney, everything would work out financially and he would make it clear to me. So, I scheduled my phone interview. I didn't really tell any of my friends at school about this though. I thought they would be really nervous about me leaving U of I, so I kept it a secret. My interview went really well. The interviewer was nice and I felt I answered everything well. Then a few days later, I had to go to my character audition. I almost didn't go since I felt that no one wanted me to go to Disney. But, my dad and sister convinced me to just go. I think if I didn't go, I might never have told Disney yes. I had such a blast there and met awesome people that were going to Disney too! Friday of that week I got an email from Disney stating I got in for Fall in Attractions!! I was over the moon. But, I still needed to figure out things with my school. So, I keep praying that God would make everything clear to me where he wanted to me. I had some stumbling blocks with school, but God moved them all out of the way, showing me his plan. So, I signed with Disney this past Monday
Now, I am moving to Disney August 17th. I'm so excited to get out on my own and live one of my dreams. Have any questions? Just ask!
Have a magical day!
